And the Eiffel Tower was aglow. This all took about 15 minutes or so , and it was a sight to behold! What a way to start off the new year! Bonne Annee to all!
Until the blue was almost completely replaced and the twinkling began to cease...
And be replaced by a golden light as it continued to twinkle...
And as it twinkled the blue began to fade a bit...
Midnight, the twinkling of lights began..
After shopping and dinner on the Champs-Elysees we came back to the apartment to get warm and to rest. Since the Champs-Elysees was so crowded, and we were cold we weren't sure if we wanted to go back out again to ring in the new year or not. We came back to the apartment and warmed up and rested, and then decided we couldn't miss being at the Eiffel Tower to start off 2009, so we headed out for the metro at about 10:45 p.m. We got to within a couple of metro stops of the Eiffel Tower, and it was a zoo, so we decided to walk the rest of the way, and we were there within 10 minutes. The Eiffel Tower was blue until midnight, when it started to twinkle!
