Conciergerie

Prior to their beheading prisoners were brought here to be stripped of all of their personal belongings, including their hair. Note the "hair" in the basket on the table!

Marie-Antoinette was guarded round-the-clock by two gendarmes. She must have been a fairly easy charge since the gendarme who is sitting is playing cards!

On Saturday we went from Sainte-Chapelle to the Conciergerie. The Conciergerie is where Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned (along with many others) prior to her beheading. It's a little cheesy with the mannequins, but an interesting place for a short visit.
